The further calls out to the Lambert family in the new trailer for Insidious: The Red Door from Blumhouse Productions and Sony Pictures Entertainment. After waiting and watching the live channel counting down till the trailer’s release, we can finally get a sense of the horrors ahead.
Insidious: The Red Door Synopsis
Set ten years after the end of the previous first two films, Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) heads east to drop his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) off at an idyllic, ivy-covered university. However, Dalton’s college dream becomes a nightmare when the repressed demons of his past suddenly return to haunt them both. Rose Byrne returns to her role as Renai Lambert, same with Andrew Astor who returns as Foster Lambert. Wilson is making his directorial debut with this horror title. The film has been written by Leigh Whannell and Scott Teems.
Insidious: The Red Door picks back up with the Lamberts after a bit of a break between Insidious: Chapter 2 and this upcoming continuation of the horrors ready to plague Dalton and his family. It’ll be interesting to see how Wilson’s perspective as a director plays out throughout the film. The previous two Insidious films went outside of how the story had started but they had familiar elements. Last year there were little drops of news regarding Insidious: The Red Door. One big reveal included who was joining the cast in this fifth installment of the franchise. Joining the cast were Sinclair Daniel, Peter Dager, and Hiam Abbass. It’s hard to believe it’s been over ten years since the last time we saw the Lambert. The film arrives in theaters on July 7th.
