Bewitching jewelry, a Kickstarter for the Monster Girls documentary, Terrifier 3 news, and more are in this week's Horror Roundup!

Welcome, weirdos to the BrittNic Creations’ Horror Roundup! Each week I’ll be bringing you some news and products from the horror realm. The topics could include new clips from an upcoming horror film, gothic artwork, unique merchandise, and much more! There’s a mixture of horror goodies for everyone in the weekly Horror Roundup. This will always be a random post. I’d like to think that life and horror aren’t any fun without some absurdity included in them. Now, let’s get to the fun part!

Cult Classics Arriving on 4K Ultra HD & Blu-Ray

In this Horror Roundup, we’re looking at a unique selection of releases in the genre. From classics to cult favorites, there’s a title for most any type of horror fan:

  • Nightbreed – Collector’s Edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray [4K UHD]
    • A young man set up as the fall guy in a string of brutal slasher murders decides he’ll hide by sneaking into the forbidden subterranean realm of Midian where shape-shifting beings—The Nightbreed—dwell.
  • My Best Friend’s a Vampire [Blu-ray]
    • A normal, healthy high school student is given the bite of his life from a seductive vampire. As he struggles with his identity crisis, his trouble increases when a “nutty professor” takes it upon himself to rid the world of vampires.
  • Jaws 2 – 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital [4K UHD]
    • Four years after the great white shark terrorized the small resort of Amity, unsuspecting vacationers begin disappearing in an all-too-familiar fashion. Police Chief Brody (Roy Scheider) finds himself in a race against time when a new shark attacks ten sailboats manned by teenagers, including his own two sons. The same heart-stopping suspense and gripping adventure that enthralled movie audiences throughout the world in Jaws returns in this worthy sequel to the original motion picture classic.
  • Sisu [4K UHD]
    • During WWII, a solitary prospector crosses paths with Nazis in northern Finland. When the Nazis steal his gold, they quickly discover he is no ordinary miner. While there is no direct translation for the Finnish word “sisu,” the legendary ex-commando will embody what it means: a white-knuckled form of courage and unimaginable determination in the face of overwhelming odds. And this one-man death squad will go to outrageous lengths to get his gold back — even if it means killing every last Nazi in his path.
  • Scream 6 Steelbook
    • The four survivors from the most recent Woodsboro Ghostface killings have moved to New York City for a fresh start. Just as they begin to feel a sense of normalcy, they receive that infamous call. Ghostface is more brutal and relentless than ever and will stop at nothing to hunt them down.
  • The War of the Worlds 1953 4K UHD
    • H.G. Wells’ chilling novel of a Martian invasion of Earth becomes even more frightening in this 1952 film adaptation that’s widely regarded as one of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. An Oscar. winner for Best Special Effects, The War of the Worlds delivers eye-popping thrills, laser-hot action and unrelenting, edge-of-your-seat suspense. No one who has seen the film’s depiction of the swan-shaped Martian machines-ticking and hissing menacingly as they cut their path of destruction-will ever forget their ominous impact!
  • Creepshow (1982): Collector’s Edition [4K UHD + Blu-ray]
    • Masters of the macabre—writer Stephen King and director George A. Romero—conjure up five shocking yarns, each a virtuoso exercise in the ghouls-and-gags style of classic ’50s horror comics. A murdered man emerges from the grave for Father’s Day cake. A meteor’s ooze makes everything…grow. A professor selects his wife as a snack for a crated creature. A scheming husband plants two lovers up to their necks in terror. A malevolent millionaire with an insect phobia becomes the prey of a cockroach army.
  • Motel Hell: Collector’s Edition [4K UHD + Blu-ray]
    • Checking in is easy…Checking out is hell! You really are what you eat with Farmer Vincent’s smoked meat in this creepy horror yarn which “packs a punch that goes way beyond mere terror” (Boxoffice). Vincent’s popular products contain a special ingredient that the psychotic farmer and his sister would literally kill to keep a secret!

Gotta Love A Movie Theater With Horror Standees

Horror Roundup is nothing without some fun posters or ads for upcoming or recently released horror films. Before seeing Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (which was a fantastic film) with my partner, I found myself full of child-like excitement over standees in the theater’s hallway.

There’s something so thrilling about the creativity in them and the promise of a narrative journey ahead for horror (and really any movie) fans. I can imagine they are sometimes confusing or a pain to put together (I had to do similar when working in a music/film department of a popular bookstore years ago). I thought I’d share two standees I saw before entering our showing the other day. One is for the recently released, The Boogeyman, and the other is for the upcoming A Haunting in Venice.

Terrifier 3 is Officially Happening!

Art the Clown is coming back to the big screen! A recent announcement has officially let horror fans know about plans to go ahead with Terrifier 3. With this third installment, there’s bound to be a bigger budget and some wildly creative and disturbing deaths at the hand of Art. A bigger budget for an upcoming film like this one is fantastic news for the Horror Roundup.

Damien Leone and Phil Falcone will continue to oversee everything going forward with this third installment. Terrifier 3 doesn’t have a lot of details revealed regarding the plot, but two stars will be back including Art the Clown himself, David Howard Thornton, and Lauren LaVera. Filming begins in the late fall/ early winter of this year and is expected to be released late next year, 2024.

In a statement to Deadline, Leone said, “Terrifier 3 will be another boundary pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no holds barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet.”

Bumble Stitch – Ghostface & Jason Hair Clips

My hair is growing longer ever since I decided I missed my longer hairstyles, but with that power come great restless curls and frizz. Horror Roundup needs to be a savior for others with hair needing to be tamed in some way at some point. Along comes a truly unique and fantastic small business, Bumble Stitch, helping us horror nerds with the perfect hair-centered fix.

Monster Girls Documentary Kickstarter

A truly unique and important documentary is in the works and it needs to be in this Horror Roundup! A Kickstarter has started for Monster Girls, an upcoming documentary directed by Jessie Seitz, regarding the work women have done and continue to do in the special effects industry. It’s a cool opportunity to support continued research and highlighting of women in the industries of horror and art. The link to the Kickstarter includes their page and all the information regarding tiers for backers and more!
